JCDI has been a consistent partner in state and national immunization campaigns, particularly in the fight against polio. The organization supported polio eradication efforts by participating in Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) and Routine Immunization (RI) exercises across Sokoto State.

One of JCDI’s key contributions was resolving cases of non-compliance, where families initially resisted polio vaccination. Through dialogue, community mobilization, and trust-building with traditional and religious leaders, JCDI helped reduce resistance and increase vaccine acceptance.

The organization also took part in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Weeks (MNCHW), supporting training for health workers and using RapidSMS for real-time monitoring of immunization activities. These efforts improved coverage rates and strengthened accountability within the health system.

JCDI’s involvement in immunization campaigns has contributed significantly to public health gains in Sokoto State. By combining technical expertise with grassroots mobilization, the organization ensured that vaccines reached the children who needed them most, supporting Nigeria’s broader goal of polio eradication.
